What To Expect

Medical History - Lyndsy will take a complete medical history, please bring with you a list of any prescribed medicine you are taking.

Examination - Please be prepared to bring with you comfortable underwear or shorts. Some of your clothing will need to be removed to do a complete postural standing exam putting you through some basic movements to identity areas of weakness, pain and stress and restrictions. Osteopaths use a highly developed sense of touch called palpation to identify the problem areas. If necessary, neurological, orthopedic and other medical tests will be performed.

Diagnosis - Lyndsy will be able to diagnose and explain the cause of your problem.

Treatment - Lyndsy may use a wide range of techniques included soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation and if appropriate safe joint manipulation. If indicated acupuncture and cranial techniques may also be used with consent. There may be a need to refer you to your GP for further tests and examinations, MRI Scans and X-Rays.

Lyndsy has undertaken postgraduate training in the interpretation of MRI scans and in conjunction with Vista diagnostics can offer direct referral at affordable prices. Immediate MRI scans available from £200. Visit Vista Diagnostics.

Side Effects

Common side effects after treatment are muscle soreness and stiffness similar as what you would expect from taking an exercise class. Soreness may last 24-48 hours after treatment. Your osteopath will take care not to put you through any pain or discomfort during the examination and treatment. The diagnosis and suggested treatment approach will be explained before treatment commences, providing you with the opportunity to raise any questions or concerns you may have.

Referral to your GP maybe necessary if further investigation scans or blood tests are required.

Payment can be made by cash, cheque or any major credit card.
